| FAQs:
What ages of babies do you serve?
We accept babies from birth to 15 months of age. Our center and our program are geared to the specific needs of children in this age range, and we offer a stimulating, nurturing learning environment for babies of this age. We are not equipped to meet the needs of babies older than 15 months, as we do not have an outdoor play space or activities geared to stimulate the developmental needs of the older baby. We do not want to merely “baby sit” your baby…we want to be a partner in your child’s development. 0 – 15 months of age is the range that we can capably accomplish this mission.
Do you have a minimum number of hours for service?
Yes. We have a 2-hour minimum.
How far in advance should I book care for my baby?
With such a limited number of babies taken each day, it is advisable to book care as soon as you know you need it. We can often accommodate same-day appointments, but that is not always possible. As much lead time as you can give will help ensure that we have a spot for your baby.
What sort of licensure do you have?
Sweet Peas is licensed by the State of Wyoming, and complies with all rules and regulations set forth by the state for a Family Child Care Center. We are licensed to take 12 babies, but have imposed a daily maximum of 10 babies to help ensure a high quality of care.
Additionally, all Sweet Peas staff members are background checked by the state of Wyoming and are CPR and First Aid certified. As the center’s director, Shawn is required to obtain 30 hours of continuing education every 2 years, and all employees are required to obtain 15 hours of continuing education every 2 years.
What sort of staff to infant ratios do you maintain?
Sweet Peas staffs 1-2 caregivers MORE than the state of Wyoming requires. Our ratios are 2:5, 3:7, or 4:10. The state requires 1:4, 2:8, or 3:10. With low ratios, parents are assured that their baby receives care and attention when the BABY needs it, not when it is convenient for the caregivers.
My baby is very fussy/needy? Is this a problem? Can I still bring them to Sweet Peas?
OF COURSE! All babies have their own personalities, as do all people. We respect your baby’s individualism, and work with the needs and challenges of each baby in our care. Sweet Peas’ approach is baby-centered, and we are well-equipped to handle almost anything that your baby throws our way!
Can I schedule a visit to tour the facility?
Absolutely. Some times are better than others, as we are better able to accommodate a comprehensive visit when the needs of the babies in care that day are less. That said, parents and visitors are always welcome to pop in ANYTIME, without notice, to really see what it is that we do.
